Masai Mara Budget Safari - 3 Days

Masai Mara Budget Safari
950

This is a road safari to Kenya’s greatest concentration of game – the Masai Mara which is a continuous ecosystem with the Serengeti in Tanzania. The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest migration in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning back south again in October.  However game viewing is rewarding all year round. On our way there, we pass through Kenya’s rift valley escarpment which offers some breath taking views.

Animals to look out for; wildebeest, topi, grants gazelle, Thomson Gazelle, Impalas, eland, hartebeest, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, bat-eared fox, jackals, hyena, crocodiles and hippos.

More than 470 species of birds are to be found; some of which include: vultures, marabou storks, secretary birds, hornbills, crowned cranes, ostriches, long-crested eagles, African pygmy-falcons and the lilac-breasted roller, which is the national bird of Kenya.

Highlights:

  • Great views of the rift valley from the Mau escarpment
  • The spectacle of the wildebeest migration in July/ August
  • Great chances of seeing the African Big five – elephants, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard
  • Balloon ride over the savanna with champagne breakfast (optional)
